The sixteen minute fashion documentary, exploring the lives of one of Africa’s greatest music legend Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti dropped on the 15th October 2024, the birth date of the late icon. The Kalakuta Republic Fashion Film was executively produced and directed by Keturah King and inspired by the AW24.

The combination of unique and exciting visuals and video recordings of Fela’s life make for an amazing audiovisual experience. The documentary also includes commentary and tales of the life of Fela and his Kalakuta Republic from influential people in all fields ranging from art and music to politics. With names like Peter Obi(former Governor of Anambra state) Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye(art icon and textile designer), Kunle Kuti(son of Fela, MD Kalakuta Musuem) as well as many others offering nuggets into the life of the black president and who he was to them.
