In the vibrant heart of Owerri, Nigeria, I sat down with Winston, the dynamic founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Crest, a fashion brand that’s turning heads with its bold fusion of faith and street style. From the outset, Winston’s passion was palpable, his words brimming with purpose. “Crest means the top. The Crest also means the toppest of the top. It was given by God,” he declared, setting the tone for a brand that’s as much a spiritual mission as it is a fashion statement.

Winston’s journey into fashion began with a deeply personal drive. “I love to be neat. I dress well, and people always compliment my physical hygiene from as long as our days in secondary school,” he recalled with a grin, reflecting on how his commitment to cleanliness shaped his creative path. But it’s more than just aesthetics—his inspiration stems from “the love of God, standout fashion, and physical hygiene.” For Winston, the ultimate reward lies in seeing others embrace his creations, regardless of whether they know he’s behind them. “I want to see people wearing my stuff whether they know I’m the owner or not,” he said earnestly, before adding, “God is the owner of the Crest brand.” This humility underscores his vision, making Crest a brand that resonates on a profound level.

Crest’s collections are a vibrant tapestry of biblical inspiration, each piece carrying a message that draws wearers closer to faith. “Most of our collections are biblical, they mean something to us and also bring us back to God,” Winston explained. Take the In the Midst of Foes collection, which he described as a reminder “to be cautious cause thou art in the midst of foes.” Then there’s The Love of God collection, born from daily reflections on divine faithfulness. “Every day I think about the love of God, despite our sins nothing can separate us from His love. We just had to have that collection,” he shared with conviction. The Fear Will Lose line, inspired by Isaiah 41’s “Fear not, I am with you,” exudes courage, while Never Ending urges relentless ambition: “It reminds us that no matter how successful we are, we must keep up the grind, the initial hunger.” There’s also the Crest Couture, a nod to the brand’s high-fashion aspirations. Then there is the Crest De-vine collection.. which is a reminder that God is the root of our living He is the vine tree while we are the branches

Crest’s style is unapologetically avant-garde, focusing on streetwear that pops with personality. “We are into streetwear, unique wears, and accessories like jerseys, tank tops, tees, knit polos, belts. We are also looking at underwear, colognes, custom-made pieces, and corporate wear,” Winston outlined, his excitement hinting at the brand’s expansive future. While rooted in streetwear, bold jerseys, jeans, and tees—Crest is versatile, with plans to explore underwear, perfumes, and corporate attire, proving its scope is as limitless as Winston’s vision.

Headquartered in Owerri, with a physical store at AE Fashion Ikenegbu and a foothold in Port Harcourt, Crest is already a local force. But Winston’s sights are set higher. “We are based in Owerri City and part of Port Harcourt city as well, with our physical store at AA Fashion Ikenegbu Owerri,” he noted, before teasing big plans: “By this year, we should be in a couple of good stores around Lagos, Abuja. Stay tuned.” His dream is to see Crest in every major Nigerian city—Lagos, Abuja, Calabar and eventually, across the globe.

Beyond clothing, Crest is building a community through the exclusive Crest Club, a haven for corporate and business-minded men. “We have a Crest Club. An association of corporate men, people who are business-minded,” Winston shared. The club offers more than networking—it’s a lifestyle, blending “humanitarian service, business, and lifestyle because we also go on vacations and picnics.” It’s a space where ambition meets purpose, much like the brand itself.

A highlight of Crest’s journey has been its collaboration with Port Harcourt-based artist Vicoka, whose music and style align seamlessly with the brand’s ethos. “It was a wonderful experience working with such talent and getting to express fashion through him,” Winston enthused. He praised Vicoka’s therapeutic sound and hopeful lyrics, noting, “Vicoka’s songs express hope and sound therapeutic, which is also expressed through his fashion sense.”

As our conversation wrapped, Winston’s lifelong passion shone through: “This is something I have always wanted to do.” Crest isn’t just a fashion brand—it’s a movement, weaving faith, grit, and style into every stitch. With Winston at the helm, Crest is poised to soar to “the toppest of the top,” dressing the world in pieces that inspire and endure. The brand is set for more collaboration this year. We are also going through a journey of getting to a 100000$ worth by end of the year as well as a new collection the “Beautiful mistakes” knitt polo is set to drop this year! Exciting times ahead!
